Google iPhone Voice Search
Ich war aufgeregt als ich gestern gesehen habe, dass man in Deutschland die voice search mit dem iPhone auch nutzen kann. Zwar - wie auf der ganzen Welt - nur in amerikanischem Englisch, aber es funktioniert so leidlich. Es sind nicht die (noch) fehlenden Anpassungen an andere Sprachen, die für Google sicherlich recht schnell zu machen sind, das Problem. Nach wie vor sind die grundsätzlichen Schwierigkeiten bei der Spracherkennung nicht gelöst, die dem ganz großen Durchbruch noch im Wege stehen.Voice search ist ja eher noch im Versuchsstadium. Wahrscheinlich ist Google deshalb so früh damit rausgekommen, weil sie sich von der massenweisen Nutzung die Mengen von Daten versprechen, die sie für die Weiterentwicklung der Spracherkennung brauchen.
Was ich leider in Deutschland nicht ausprobieren kann, ist die Voice Search 1:1 bei Google Maps, die Mike Cohen im folgenden Google Round Table vorstellt. Da scheint das Zusammenspiel von Sprache, Text und Visualisierung schon ganz gut zu funktionieren. Vielleicht ist es bei der geographischen Suche auch in bezug auf Spracherkennung und tagging etwas einfacher als bei anderen Suchen.
Hier noch die passende Werbung von "Yellow Strom". Vielleicht, und hoffentlich kommt uns das in ein paar Jahren schon vor wie aus der Steinzeit.
